EĞİTİMİN YAŞI YOKTUR!

Bir gün bir adam bir Pedagoga şöyle bir soru sorar:
“Çocuğumun eğitimine kaç yaşında başlamalıyım?”
Pedagog:
“Çocuğunuz kaç yaşında?” diye sorar.
Adam:
“Bir yaşında,” der.
Pedagogun cevabı çok çarpıcı olur:
“Bir sene geç kalmışsın dostum!” der.

Çocuk yetiştirmek bir sanattır. Hem de dünyanın en zor, en yorucu fakat en güzel ve en keyif verici sanatıdır. Fakat şu iyi bilinmelidir ki çocuk yetiştirmekle, çocuk büyütmek arasında çok fark vardır. İkisi de aynı şey değildir, tıpkı bakmakla görmenin aynı şey olmadığı gibi. Biraz daha açıklayacak olursak, her bakan görecek diye bir şey yoktur ama görme eylemini gerçekleştirmek için mutlaka bakmak gerekir, ayrıca herkes aynı şeye bakabilir ama aynı şeyi göremez. Aradaki “ince detay” farkıdır.

Çocuğu yedirmek, içirmek, giydirmek, gezdirmek ise onu sadece büyütmektir. Çocuk yetiştirmek öyle göründüğü gibi kolay bir iş değildir. Tam tersine, çocuk yetiştirmek sevgi, bilgi, anlayış, sabır, hoşgörü ve sorumluluk gerektiren bir iştir. Bu işi yapmak içinde gerekli donanıma sahip olmak gerekmektedir. Aksi hâlde yapılan iş verimli olmaz.

Hiç kimse çocuğunu hayalindeki gibi dört dörtlük yetiştiremez. Çünkü dünyaya gözlerini açan her çocuğun doğuştan ve genetik olarak alınan özellikler olmasına karşın her çocuğun ayrı bir fiziksel yapısı, kişilik özelliği, psikososyal özellikleri, anlayışı, duygusal yapısı, zekâ kapasitesi ve ruhsal gelişimi bulunmaktadır. Bütün bu özellikler, aile ortamı, okul ve devamlı değişen çevre şartları ile etkileşince ortaya birçok yönü ile anne babadan farklı bir biyopsikososyal yapı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Önemli olan çocuğunuzun iyi bir eğitimi için elinizden gelenin en iyisini yapmanızdır. Çünkü yapılan araştırmalarda başarılı çocukların genelde eğitimli, kültürlü, ilgili, huzurlu ailelerden çıktığı, başarısız ve problemli çocukların ise; parçalanmış, problemli, ilgisiz, kültürsüz aile ortamlarından çıktığı görülmüştür.

Sonuç olarak; çocuğunuzun yaşamını sağlıklı bir biçimde sürdürebilmesi, özgüveni yüksek bir birey olabilmesi, dış dünyaya açılabilmek için gereksinim duyduğu deneyimleri kazanabilmesi ve insan ilişkilerini kurma becerisine sahip olabilmesi için siz anne ve babalarına ihtiyaçları olduğunu unutmayalım. Daha sağlıklı, mutlu ve başarılı insan yetiştirmemiz, huzurlu ve mutlu bir aile ortamını sağlamamızla mümkün olacaktır.
Bu çalışmanın hedefi tüm anne ve babaların, çocuklarını daha iyi anlamalarını, tanımalarını ve onlarla sağlıklı ilişkiler kurabilmelerini sağlamaktır. Umarım bu kitap tüm anne ve babalara yararlı olur.
