Sevgili Ebeveynler;

Bilindiği gibi çocuk için ilk eğitim ortamı ailedir. Bu ortamda çocuğun örneklere ihtiyacı vardır. Sözgelimi; anne-baba yemekten önce ellerini yıkamıyorsa ya da yemekten sonra dişlerini fırçalamıyorsa ve bunu çocuğuna öğretmeye çalışıyorsa çocuk annenin sözünü pek dinlemeyecektir.
Çocuk ellerini zorla yıkasa da bunu alışkanlık hâline getiremeyecektir. Eğer anne-baba bunları çocuğunun gözü önünde yaparsa çocuk da en kısa zamanda aynısını yapacaktır.

Okulda öğretilen kuralların evde de desteklenmesi gerekir. Tersine bir durum çelişki yaratır ve çocuğun kafasını karıştırır. Dolayısıyla öğrenmesini zorlaştırır. Şuna da dikkat etmek gerekir ki çocuğa öğretilmek istenen abartılı uygulamalar, takıntılı davranışlar, cezalandırmalar çocukta tepkisel davranışlara yol açar.

Her şeyden önce ana babanın çocuklarına karşı tutumlarının sağlıklı olabilmesi; ana-babanın kendiyle barışık, dengeli, huzurlu ve birbirlerine karşı sevgi ve saygılı olmalarına bağlıdır. Bu nedenle ailenin çocuğa karşı olan tutum ve davranışları çok büyük önem taşımaktadır. Aksi hal çocuğun ihtiyacı olan modelden yoksun kalmasına ve bunun sonucunda olumsuz bazı davranışlara (uyumsuz, başarısız, sağlıksız ve dengesiz bir kişiliğe) sahip olmasına yol açar.

Bu kitap hem siz ebeveynlere hem de çocuklara hitap etmektedir. “Sevgili Ebeveynler” yazan bölümü kendiniz için okuyun, “Sevgili Çocuklar” yazan bölümü de her gün veya belli aralıklarla sesli olarak, çocuklarınız uyumak isterken yatağının başında veya yemekten sonra ya da uygun bir zamanda okuyabilirsiniz.

Sonuç olarak; çocuğunuzun yaşamını sağlıklı bir biçimde sürdürebilmesi, özgüveni yüksek bir birey olabilmesi, dış dünyaya açılabilmek için gereksinim duyduğu deneyimleri kazanabilmesi ve
insan ilişkilerini kurma becerisine sahip olabilmesi için siz anne ve babalarına ihtiyaçları olduğunu
unutmayalım. Daha sağlıklı, mutlu ve başarılı insan yetiştirmemiz, huzurlu ve mutlu bir aile ortamını sağlamamızla mümkün olacaktır.

Bu çalışmanın hedefi tüm anne ve babaların çocuklarını mümkün olduğunca hayata zamanında hazırlamalarıdır. Barış ve sevgi dolu bir dünya kurup mutlu ve sağlıklı yaşam sürmek bizlerin yetiştireceği çocuklara bağlıdır. Umarım bu kitap tüm anne ve babalara yararlı olur.
